Korhonen Furniture Factory celebrated its centennial in 2010. Timeless design furniture has already been manufactured in Kaarina – which neighbours the City of Turku, Finland – for one hundred years, with respect for the traditions established by carpenter and Managing Director Otto Korhonen and academician Alvar Aalto.

Korhonen Furniture Factory is a Finnish family business that offers furniture-related product development, production and logistics services to design firms. The company is particular renowned as a manufacturer of Alvar Aalto’s furniture since the 1930s.

Korhonen Furniture Factory has already successfully combined Finnish handcrafting traditions and advancing technology for a hundred years. Otto Korhonen, an expert carpenter in furniture manufacture who founded the company, found his inspiration in experimenting with and doing what was new and unprecedented. Aalto prepared the contours while Korhonen created the technology, furniture structures, moulds and industrial working methods.
